This week's episode of Smallville wasn't too bad, it was a different approach which is always good. Some more progression in Lois & Clark and more. Here are my thoughts...

WHAT I LIKED

-- The idea that the episode wasn't completely around Clark was weird at first, but then it grew on me. Oliver being the focal point was a nice touch, especially in showing his background and how he pretty much became the Green Arrow. I also liked that it showed history between Tess and Oliver, which hopefully sets up for something nice in future episodes. That said, anything that does happen between the two down the road will now make sense due to this episode, kudos for planting the seeds.

-- I say it every week, and I'll say it again. The slow progression in the Lois & Clark love story is amazing. They didn't just randomly fall for each other, this one is taking forever and is coming off realistic. They are a couple that nobody, including themselves, would think would have sparks fly. But inch by inch we're seeing a firework display in the making that'll make the millennium party in Times Square look like Lex Luthor's 10th birthday party.

-- Speaking of love stories, it was also a nice touch to show Lois still have SOME sort of love for Oliver during the time he was dying. I also saw this as a way to show Lois as more than a nosy reporter type who's always looking for the big story. Very down to Earth moment.

-- When Tess told Clark that the only antidote for the poison was in South America, and there was no time to get there I think we all knew what went through Clark's mind....HE COULD GET THERE IN TIME! I love stuff like that on the show, the Superman type of stuff showing the powers in a way like that. It's the subtle stuff that gets me pumped.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE

-- Don't get me wrong, this Davis/Chloe story is getting a bit interesting, but it appears that the lack of Jimmy Olsen is making this seem like Chloe will fall for Davis. If that happens, I can predict the whole thing. They'll fall for each other, he'll begin his transformation into Doomsday, she'll get hurt or maybe even killed off, yadda yadda yadda, typical Smallville crap.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Well just like last week, the positives outweighed the negatives again. Which is always good. There wasn't much that I didn't like about this episode, my only negative was a fear for the future in the story. I can't wait until this coming week's episode, because this one got me excited.
