Halloween 2, a Katana, and Mac OS X Snow Leopard

So far this has been a pretty darn good weekend. Saturday morning started off frustrating and annoying, but as the afternoon approached it became better. Crystal came and picked me up then we headed out to Moreno Valley to the Harkins Theater at the Mall. Before we got there, we stopped at Best Buy for me to grab my store pickup order of Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

katanaAfter that we then drove across the street to the Mall and headed right to the theater, as the movie was just about to start. Harkins Theaters are badass, lots of room and it’s just comfortable as heck. We decided to see Halloween 2, which wasn’t too bad. I never was too into the Halloween movies, and I absolutely hate Rob Zombie. But this one wasn’t too bad. Zombie’s first remake of the series is the only movie I was able to get into that he made. But for what it is, this sequel managed to stick with a lot of the traditional things you’d see in a Halloween movie. So kudos to Zombie for keeping with the consistency as well as adding his own twists into the mix.

When we left the theater, Crystal and I were looking around in a sword shop and I was able to score a nice Musashi Katana sword. I bought Crystal a little dagger as well, with a red ruby on the end of the handle. The store had a cool 15% Off sale for Labor Day.

Once we got home we kicked back for a bit, I toyed around with installing Mac OS X Snow Leopard (which I’m still toying with right now, muahahaha!). Then Crystal went to Wendys and got us dinner. Damn those Baconators are great! So yeah, I would say that this weekend was a great one. I spent way too much money, but hey I had fun, Crystal had fun, we were together and we live to fight another day!

SummerSlam Thoughts & Photos

In a few words what I have to say about SummerSlam this year is that it was extremely fun.  With the exception of the short Christian/Regal bout, and the boring Khali/Kane bout, it was a tremendous PPV.  I loved the amazing opening Intercontinental Championship match, the push of MVP/Swagger, the DX entrance and great tag team match.

Cena & Orton put on a great match, and the way it was orchestrated was good too.  I seriously thought Cena would overcome all of the obstacles but Orton winning was a nice swerve.  Then of course TLC was great.  Undertaker’s return was a shock to me and I enjoyed it.  The PPV setup nice for the next one, and made me want to tune in to all shows this week to find out what will happen in the aftermath.  That’s what a PPV should do!  Kudos to WWE, it was a great show and I am glad I was there live for the show.

Before the show it was fun meeting up with Aaron, Beth, Noah and Nagel.  It was also nice to meet Beth’s parents. Too bad we didn’t have time to meet up with them after the show in Burbank at Bob’s Big Boy, but we have many chances to always meet up anyway.  Overall it was a good day hanging out with Crystal and Tinman, and meeting up with everybody.  If you want to view my photos from WWE SummerSlam 2009 at Staples Center, you can check them out on my MySpace.  I should have the album set to public.

Back from Laughlin, NV! It was fun!

Well I am back from my weekend trip to Laughlin, NV with my parents and Crystal. We had a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to go back. We stayed at the River Palms. Of course I’ll bring more money with me than I did this time, but still I had a lot of fun. My Aunt Betty, Uncle Dave and Uncle Marvin were also there.

Despite a snag on the first day, that Friday night was a hell of a night. Crystal and I met up with everybody at the Buffet for dinner after we settled in at our room, and rested from the four hour drive. I had some popcorn shrimp, salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and some awesome fresh green beans. After dinner we all decided to hit up the slots. Crystal and I also played Blackjack, which was awesome. Around midnight we hit up the cafe to order a pizza and went back up to our room for the night.

Saturday my dad and Uncles went to play some Golf all day. My mom, Aunt Betty, Crystal and I had lunch together while we waited for them to come back. That cafe has the best patty melts that I have ever tasted. When they all came back from Golfing, we decided to hit up The Avi Casino for a short time, then came back to the River Palms. Just some more boring gambling at the slots all night, followed by dinner at the cafe. Had me some good ass Grande Nachos. Damn, I am sounding like The Phil now aren’t I? Crystal and I went back up to our room around midnight and ordered a movie, Obsessed, with Ali Larter & Beyonce. Damn good movie, I highly suggest it.

Sunday morning we woke up, watched some TV for a while then checked out and headed home. It doesn’t sound like much on paper, but damn it was a good weekend and very tiring. Lots of good laughs, good food, and throwing money away back into the economy. Anyway thank you all for reading the boring blog, I appreciate it! Time to get back to normal on Monday.
