RingScoops.com Exclusive: The Stro Interview

Posted by Wade Needham on January 19, 2010

I recently sat down with former WCW superstar The Stro to catch up on what’s he’s been doing in the world of professional wrestling.  We also talked about the current happenings going on with TNA and WWE as well.  Below are some keynotes talked about:

- The Stro talks about some of the shows he’s been recently doing, along with movie and TV show projects.

- If you’re interested in The Stro’s wrestling school, he talks about learning ring psychology, character development in addition to learning how to bump.

- Changes in TNA were brought up, such as the move from the 6 Sided Ring to a 4 Sided Ring.  Stro talks about how Eric Bischoff had a vision back in WCW, and he appears to still have a vision today in TNA.

- While not seeing TNA Genesis, Stro did comment on the results and what he heard about the main event.  Stro praised AJ Styles & Kurt Angle for their performance.

- About the current product in the WWE, Stro says he’s happy to see Vince still has the ability to create new stars such as Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, The Miz, Ted DiBiase and more.

- Some funny stories from the road were talked about, such as a worker getting “blown up” from lacing his boots and an announcer talking about nachos in the ring.

- Stro talks about his friend Jake “The Snake” Roberts announcing a Retirement Tour, and how it would be an honor if Jake were to have him part of the show.

- When his run in WCW was brought up, Stro was asked about his relationship with Symphony (aka Ryan Shamrock).  Stro maintained that his relationship was professional, and it remains that today.

- Finally Stro said it was a historic moment when Bret Hart returned to the WWE and it will be interesting to see where things go from there.
